Inserting Text Boxes

A text box can be inserted into a document in order to draw special attention to a specific message. To do this, follow these instructions:

  1. From the drop-down menu, click Insert. Hold your mouse over the downward-pointing » symbol at the bottom of the menu and wait for the full menu to appear. Click Text Box.
  2. If a box comes on the screen that says "Create your drawing here", press the Esc key and use your cursor to draw a box. There will now be a cursor in the box you just drew, waiting for you to type your text.
  3. You can easily move the text box around the screen by moving your cursor over the box until your cursor changes into an arrowed crosshair. Then simply drag the box to a new location.
  4. To format the box, right-click the box and choose Format Text Box from the shortcut menu (refer to image above).
  5. In the window that appears, you may specify the color, style, and line thickness of your box, as well as its size and layout.
