Both Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³®) and the Microsoft® Office certification programs have earned ACE credit recommendations for college education. Using ACE college credit recommendations allows individuals to earn potential college credits by demonstrating their knowledge is college-level equivalent. To be eligible to earn ACE college credit recommendations, individuals need to at least meet the minimum passing score requirements for each certification or examination that is taken.

Upon successful completion of IC³, candidates may receive college credit through participating ACE-affiliated colleges. From this recommendation, candidates can seek credit from degree-granting colleges, universities, and other education-related organizations that are members of ACE. Colleges and universities accept ACE credit recommendations based on their own policies and requirements for each particular degree.

Founded in 1918, ACE is the major coordinating body for all the nation's higher education institutions, representing more than 1,600 college and university presidents, and more than 200 related associations, nationwide. It seeks to provide leadership and a unifying voice on key higher education issues and influence public policy through advocacy, research, and program initiatives.

ACE and Certiport have partnered since October 2002.
