Certiport Releases New Round of Global, Web-based Services
Convenience, Usability, and Enhanced Security Offer Advantages to Test Takers and Certiport Centers; IC³ Digital Certificates and Achievement Credentials in Many Languages Offer Instant Portability
SALT LAKE CITY November 9, 2004
Certiport today announced the availability of new, Web-based services, including: 1) Digital Certificates for the Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³ ®) Digital Achievement Credentials for each of the three exams that comprise the IC³ certification; and 3) fraud-proof, online verification of credentials through a secure, global Web site. Such enhancements to Certiport offerings increase convenience and grant greater portability to test takers around the globe who wish to provide proof of skills for academic and workplace advantage. These new digital services follow the recent addition of other Web-based services from Certiport, including Online Exams, New Career Planner, and Digital Transcripts.
“Advanced Internet technologies enable Certiport to better serve test-taker needs by offering convenient, 24/7 access to credentials and other digital services,” stated David Saedi, President and CEO of Certiport. “These new services help constituents share their accomplishments with potential employers through a secure, fraud-proof environment while eliminating the complexities of sharing data across the globe.”
Upon earning the IC³ certification or passing an individual IC³ exam, candidates receive a congratulatory e-mail from Certiport, directing them to view a digital version of their credential through their personalized education portal. Furthermore, candidates can now view their credentials in Arabic, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Spanish, and Turkish. This instantaneous translation of credentials into a different language allows candidates to provide immediate proof of knowledge and skills to any academic institution or employer around the world.
“The new Achievement Credentials for individual IC³ exams are now offered in response to requests from partners around the world who wish to recognize milestones on the path to certification,” stated Beverley Keating MacIntyre, Chief Learning Officer at Certiport. “Test takers across all occupations can now demonstrate achievement for each of the three exams required for IC³ certification in a language of choice. These exams include Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online.”
The Web-based global credential-verification capability uses a unique ID code to help an employer or academic institution authenticate any certifications issued by Certiport. Potential employers or other external users may access the credential by entering its ID code at www.verify.certiport.com. This new capability reduces the time and cost for employers to verify credentials and eliminates the chance for credential fraud and abuse.
